October Highlights: Learning, Play, and Celebrations
Kia Ora,
We have had busy month with a lot happening in the centre.
Firstly, we ordered a huge number of toys, bikes and furniture for children which they have been enjoying thoroughly. They have been building different shapes with the magnetic tiles and investigating the insect specimens that came in the lot. We also have a lot of food in our family corners which the children have been enjoying cooking and eating!
The children went for a walk to the local grocery shop. They had a look at all the things that are available and proceeded to buy ingredients required to make fruit salad. It included choosing what fruits they wanted and counting how many were needed. And once they were back at the centre, made a yummy fruit salad and enjoyed eating it!!
The children also engaged in a science experiment, “Walking water”. They had a look of amazement on their faces as they watched the experiment.
Apart from that, they baked muffins for afternoon tea and enjoyed the whole process.
Not to forget we had two celebrations one after the other. We celebrated Halloween and the children dressed up in their outfits to come to the centre. The over 2’s also had a pinata which they needed to bash to get the lollies out.
After that we had the event of Diwali which involved making diyas, painting them and even making sweets for the occasion. Check out all the photos!!
As for babies, the have been enjoying listening to the guitar being played one of our student teachers. Listening to various songs and dancing to the music has been a great source of amusement to them. They too participated in all the celebration and had fun. Our teachers got involved in dancing during Diwali while some children watched and some participated. What a great way to start the new month!!
