At Lollipops Britomart, community play is a vital strand of the curriculum, so children regularly have the chance to get out and about exploring the local area.

These excursions provide invaluable learning opportunities, not to mention endless fun. Today, for example, teachers and children slipped, slopped, slapped and wrapped before taking a stroll down to the duck pond and community park.

Centre manager Supriya Sharma joined them and had this to say:

“We took bread and fed the ducks. The tamariki absolutely loved this! They chased the birds, ran around after bubbles and played a bit of soccer in the park. What a wonderful outing for everyone .”
