Visiting our Local Heroes
Children learn a lot by getting out into the local community, and today a visit to the Albany Fire Station gave Lollipops Albany's Chicks Room plenty to reflect on.
"The fire fighters were eagerly waiting for us to arrive and once we were all safely inside the station they showed us how the big roller doors closed and went over a few safety rules," says centre manager Tracy Bedford.
"We then got to dress up as fire fighters before going to explore the fire engine. We even got to watch as the fire fighters squirted water out of the truck. It was such a fun trip and the children learnt so much about our local heroes."
